Peter van Hardenberg

As the founding member of Heroku's Data team, Peter accumulated an uncomfortably large amount of experience both with the large-scale operations of Postgres but also with the many woes and opportunities users face. He's spoken on Postgres at PGCon in the past, including offering a keynote, and has given talks on Postgres and databases around the world. In past lives, he's been a game developer, helped build a desktop media player, travelled to the Arctic as an oceanographer, and pursued Shakespearean scholarship. He lives in San Francisco, CA, and will happily complain about the cost of living.
